Why did you start this site?
We started this site after recognizing a very real need at our thriving hypnotherapy clinic. On a regular basis we deal with the fallout of badly ended relationships and encounter the emotional trauma that comes with breaking up. We can’t tell you the amount of times we’ve been asked whether you can erase a memory of someone through hypnosis. (The answer is no). While we can actively help people that come through the doors of our clinic, we felt that we should expand our practice and offer help to people that are not able to see us in person. The Breakup Website was born out of a desire to offer help to as many people as we can using some of the tools that we employ in our practice every day.
What does the program entail?
When you sign up for the program, you’ll be entered into a system that will send you daily emails tailored towards walking you through the stages of grief. Each email has been carefully researched and offers some text concerning what you’re going through, but also a task to complete. The tasks are designed to walk you through the process of recovery. Sometimes they’ll be difficult and may involve you coming to terms with unpleasant facts; sometimes they’ll ask you to do something fun, such as treat yourself to dinner, or watch a funny movie. There are 30 days of emails and tasks that are designed to walk you through your loss and back onto a track of recovery.
If you’d like, you can also listen to self-hypnosis files as you go through the program. The emails will let you know when you should begin listening specific files, but it is optional. We would recommend it. These files have been specifically created to help you move on with as little pain as possible. However, the 30 days program will still be extremely helpful if you choose not to listen to the MP3s. If you’re unsure, have a listen to the free file we’re provided on the home page, or under ‘your free download’.
There is also a forum on the website where you can track your progress, as well as the progress of others. You can offer support and receive support from other people going through the program along with you.
And check out our Youtube channel were you can see videos of other people sharing their stories.

What if my situation is complicated?
We understand that some breakups are a lot more complicated than others. You may be getting divorced and have to untangle your finances, or maybe you have kids. While we strive to make this program as inclusive as possible, some of the suggestions in this program are not going to apply to you. It will still be helpful, but we recommend using the program in conjunction with Separated but Thriving. This is a document that one of our senior therapists created when going through a difficult separation. We think you’ll find it extremely helpful. And it’s free.
